After months of rumours, fans of the Battlefield series will soon get to see a little bit more about the next game in the series. Earlier today, the franchise’s official Twitter account tweeted a short video unveiling the reveal’s date.
If you’re a fan of the franchise and are eager to see what the next entry has in store, save the date: Wednesday, June 9th at 7 AM PDT / 10 AM EDT.
Battlefield‘s previous entries, Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V, took place in the First World War and Second World War respectively. However, rumours have been going around that the newest instalment of the long-running first-person shooter will bring players back to a modern day setting.
“I can tell you it is a bold step. It has everything we love about Battlefield–and takes all of it to the next level. Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments,” DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson wrote in a recent EA blog post. Gabrielson also wrote about the scale of the game, stating that it will feature “all-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs.”
In order to achieve the epic scale desired, Battlefield is being developed by its biggest team ever. In total, four studios are currently working on the game.
Expect to learn more on June 9.
