CD Projekt Red has announced the first expansion set to their spinoff card game, Gwent. Titled Price of Power, the set will consist of three story-based expansions. CDPR states that the overarching theme of the expansions is “magic and how different factions seek out, fight for, or exploit its power.”
The first expansion of the set, Once Upon A Pyre, will bring 26 new card with it. The new cards will be split into four per faction and two neutrals. Furthermore, new abilities and gameplay mechanics will be introduced. Once Upon A Pyre will be available for PC, Apple M1 Macs, iOS, and Android on June 8, 2021.
Meanwhile, Gwent fans can head to the in-game store or the official Price of Power website to purchase the Expansion Pass. Doing so will grant access to each expansion’s premium cards as they become available. Also included with the Expansion Pass is the animated Pyre coin, which will be available for use immediately following purchase.
