Welcome Back to The Gaming Couch

What a year it’s been.

I hope this post finds you all safe and healthy.

When I launched The Gaming Couch last year, I was incredibly motivated to bring up-to-the-minute news to all of you. I was incredibly excited to be forging relationships with publishers and developers, reviewing their games and talking shop with them. But in all my excitement, I underestimated the amount of work I needed to put into The Gaming Couch.

Scouring the web for breaking news and interesting article ideas, actually writing, revising, and editing articles, recording gameplay, writing scripts, editing video, recording voiceover, juggling social media accounts, managing emails, and more. All that while holding a 9-to-5 job.

I was trying to offer the same type of coverage as giants like IGN, GameSpot, and Kotaku, who have armies of writers, editors, freelancers, researchers when I was all by myself. Talk about David vs Goliath.

Not to mention the whole global pandemic. I’m sure everybody has been affected by Covid-19 in some way. Many of us have known loved ones who have contracted the disease or have contracted it ourselves. Many more have lost their jobs and livelihood because of it. We’ve all, in some way, needed to adapt on the fly. I truly hope that this article finds you well and in a good place.

It’s good to be back

As The Gaming Couch shakes off its rust, as I get back into the beat of writing articles and producing video reviews, I want to thank you. Thank you to all the readers and fans who stuck around. Thank you to all the media relations professionals who wished me the best and continued to send breaking news and review codes my way. Thank you to the developers and publishers who continue to work on the games we love to play. The games that give us a way to escape and connect with others.

Welcome back to The Gaming Couch. I’m so happy to see you here.
