Rust Console Edition Now Available

Console fans of hardcore survival games have a new reason to rejoice. Rust, one of the more popular crafting and survival games on the market, is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This marks the first time that the game has appeared on consoles.

Rust Console Edition, as it is known, is separate from the PC version and optimized specifically for consoles. Further, this version features crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox players, so you can team up with your friends regardless of which console they are on.

For those who have never heard of Rust, it is an open-world survival game in which up to 100 players attempt to stay alive. Players must manage thirst and hunger, craft weapons and shelter, and do their best to survive against other players and various hostile NPCs. Publisher Double Eleven states that it is “not for the faint of heart: the game boasts a steep learning curve and a huge, killer community of players.”

The game comes in three editions, each with their own perks:

  • The Standard Edition contains the game and a weapon and skin pack for $49.99 USD;
  • The Deluxe Edition contain everything from the Standard Edition and adds the Welcome Pack and Public Test Branch Access for $59.99 USD;
  • The Ultimate Edition includes everything from the Deluxe Edition and adds the Elite Combat Skin Pack and 1100 Rust Coins for $79.99 USD.

If you are interested in purchasing the game, you can do so via Double Eleven’s store or via your console of choice’s digital store.
